On 06.07.2015, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 6(1); of the Bhopal Gas Leak Disaster (Processing of Claims) Act, 1985 (21 of 1985), appointed Shri Justice Prakash Shrivastava, a sitting Judge of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh to hold concurrent charge of the post of Commissioner for the Welfare of the Victims of Bhopal Gas Leak Disaster, for a period of one year with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post.
