On 19.09.2015, considering the motto of judiciary to promote transparency and access of information for all the stakeholders of the justice delivery system, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Madan B. Lokur, Judge, Supreme Court of India and In-charge, eCommittee, Supreme Court of India, inaugurated the public access portal of National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) under the guidance of Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India.
The portal intends to provide easy access to the figures of pendency of District Judiciary Courts across the country, in aggregate for country and States as well as individual Court/Judges. The same cab done by visiting the National eCourts portal ecourts.gov.in. These statistics will be updated everyday by the respective Court Complexes covered under the eCourts Project and will show case pendency broken into Civil and Criminal Cases segregated into age-wise categories of upto 2 years, between 2 to 5 years, between 5 to 10 years and more than 10 years. The NJDG portal will also disseminate national and State, district and court wise information about institution and disposal of last month of cases and also the cases filed by senior citizen and women in the total pendency.
