Ministry of Home Affairs via notification dated 12th September, 2016 notified that the Central Government on being satisfied that Islamic Research Foundation, a registered trust authorised to accept foreign contribution for undertaking educational and social programmes in India which are not detrimental to the national interest has violated the provisions of Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010. Therefore, the Central Government in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 11 of the Act, specified that the Islamic Research Foundation shall obtain prior permission of the Central Government before accepting any foreign contribution in accordance with the provisions of section 12 of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 and the rules made thereunder.
