The National Law School of India University, Bangalore are organising their ninth annual National Law School Model United Nations (NLSMUN) conference. This event, well established across the country, will be held from 19th to 20th January 2018. NLSMUN is the premier conference for college and high school students in Bangalore, organized by the Centre for International Relations and International Law. It is a platform for students to come together to discuss global issues and draft resolutions, as representatives of countries and organizations from around the world. Apart from an opportunity to learn team-work, negotiation and public speaking skills, NLSMUN gives the participants an insight into the working of the United Nations.

The first edition of this conference took place in the year 2009. Remarkable as this edition was, in revolutionizing our manner of speech and our newfound stock of knowledge, every subsequent edition has only managed to raise the bar further, despite its perceived impossibility. This year, the conference has reached a new high with participation from 200 students coming from around 40 schools from across the country. With a wide array of discussions, NLSMUN is a unique educational experience.

In this edition of NLSMUN, the organizers are simulating the United Nations Security Council, focussing on the agendum of Establishment of an International Weapons Deterrence Framework; the Historic Human Rights Commission discussing the second Congo War of 2002; The United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Space with agenda focussing on uses of space resources and future technologies; and the Kashmir Peace Dialogue which will be a continuous crisis committee. The issues being discussed are of utmost relevance today and shall ensure that the conference is an unprecedented success.
