It is our great pleasure to announce that a team from Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) has emerged victorious at the 4th Global Anti-Trust
Institute Invitational Moot Court Competition. The team consisted of Jasleen Kaur of the 3-year law program and Samvit Ganesh and Angad Singh Makkar of the 5-year law program respectively.
This edition of the GAI moot took place between February 17-18, 2018 at the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. It was hosted by the Antonin Scalia Law School Moot Court Board in conjunction with the Global Antitrust Institute and Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg of the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. Teams were initially tested over two preliminary rounds on the 17th, after which semi-finals were held the next day for the top four teams. Our team broke through to the semi-finals and proceeded to win a spot in the final round, eventually facing a strong team from the University of Florida. In emerging victorious in the finals, we ranked first in an international pool of 14 teams from various countries including China, Belgium, South Korea and the United States of America.
The Global Antitrust Institute Invitational is the only moot court competition in the United States devoted exclusively to antitrust law and offers a unique opportunity for invited law schools. Competing teams not only compete in a federal circuit court, but also attend a private reception and network with an extensive list of litigation and antitrust professionals from the Washington, D.C. area.
