Supreme Court: The long-awaited judgment of the Supreme Court for the death row convicts has finally been pronounced by the three-judge bench comprising of CJI Dipak Misra, R. Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan JJ.
The judgment has been authored by Ashok Bhushan J. stating that the review petition filed by the three convicts is to be dismissed as there is no scope for reconsideration. Therefore, the earlier order of death sentence given by the Delhi High Court is upheld.
While reaffirming the death sentence of the convicts, it has also been stated that there was no ground or merits to re-consider the order of death sentence in this barbarous crime.
