The Centre for Environment Laws of Institute of Law, Nirma University hosted a National Seminar on “Sustainable Resource Management: Legal issues and Conservation Strategies” which was presided by Mr. Justice A.K. Goel, Chairperson, National Green Tribunal as the chief guest for the event.
Justice Goel in his thought provoking speech has ignited young minds with the importance of resource management, which could the paved way for sustainable development of the society. According to him, India possess enough resources to cater the need and requirements of its people but not employing effective and efficient instruments of its preservation and utilization has led to the drastic reduction of it from the reach of the common man. Additionally, he pointed out the role of National Green Tribunal (NGT) in preserving and protecting the environment by delivering various judgments which have benefited society at large and proved beneficial for the environmental protection.
