Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad (MNLU-A) came into existence on March 16, 2017. It is an independent and autonomous institution created under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014. The State of Maharashtra realizing the importance of quality legal education and need of well-trained law graduates to the Bar, Bench and various professions took a very bold decision by creating the third National Law University in the state, after Mumbai and Nagpur. The commencement of the university has fulfilled the need and aspirations of the people of Marathwada region for an institution of national importance in Aurangabad. MNLU Aurangabad aims at disseminating learning as well as imparting knowledge of law and legal process for the cause of national welfare and development.

India is rapidly transforming to emerge as superpower in 21st century. Though it has progressed in all the sectors ranging from Nano-technology to the space technology, it still faces some challenges which are needed to be addressed immediately, one of such an issue which is worrying progressive Indian society gender discrimination. Women still view as substandard and subordinate to men in Indian society.Indian constitution has emphasised the rights of women on par with the men.But still women facing social,political, cultural and economic challenges due to lack of synchronization and coordination of various agencies. Despite all this hurdles women are making progress in all walks of life and leading the world to a new era. This seminar will focus on the various issues that women face in all spheres of life. This seminar throws light upon several challenges faced by Indian women and why there is still requirement for their advancement. It Will concentrate on the steps taken by the government and portray suggestions for their developments.
