As reported by media, Terminally ill patients can now for the first time apply to end their own life, after new laws went into effect in the state of Victoria in Australia.

From 19-06-2019, Victoria residents will be able to request access to a voluntary assisted dying scheme.

According to voluntary assisted dying legislation, applicant patients must be of sound mind. They must also be believed to have less than a year to a live or less than six months for those with neurodegenerative conditions.
