RGNUL organized its flagship moot, 8th National Moot Court Competition from 16-18 August 2019. To promote the mooting culture not only amongst our own students but from every part of the country. The 8th edition sought to test the oratory and researching skills of the participating teams on the issue of Marital Rape. The Moot Proposition is drafted by Professor (Dr.) G.I.S. Sandhu, Former Registrar and was filled with legal nuances. The Moot Court Competition witnessed participation of 46 Teams from the institutions across the nation vying for Prize amount of Rs. 50,000/-.
On 16th August, 2019 the registration, draw of lots and exchange of memorials for preliminary rounds were conducted and on 17thAugust the teams went to intellectually stimulating and gruelingpreliminary rounds which, were adjudged by eminent penal for Academicians, practicing Advocates of Supreme Court and several High Courts. The preliminary rounds were followed by the quarter finals rounds which included top 8 teams. The quarter finals and semi final rounds were knockout rounds.The Final Rounds were presided over by three judge bench consisting of Hon’ble Justice Rajive Bhalla, Former Judge, Punjab and Haryana Court; Professor (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, Registrar, National Law University, Delhi and Professor (Dr.) Gurpal Singh, Former Head and Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala.
