The Model United Nations Society (MUNSOC) at School of Law, CHRIST(Deemed to be University) has been a fostering ground for students to actively participate and engage in simulations to enrich one’s understanding of international issues and diplomacy. MUNSOC works on encouraging students to avail more knowledge and experience about Model United Nation events through workshops, seminars, practice sessions not just for students of CHRIST, but to the benefit of external interested participants as well. In light of this, the Model United Nations Society extends a warm invitation to its first Developmental Workshop on ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Excelling at Model United Nations‘. The workshop is scheduled for three days and aims at comprehensively covering all the nuances and intricate details that one might find helpful in terms of participation in various Model United Nations Conferences.

The duration of the workshop shall see 5 speakers:

  1. Day 1:

On the first day, eminent international legal scholar Ms. Amrisha Tripathi from the School of Law, and Drs. Madhumati Deshpande and Manoharan N. from the Department of International Studies at CHRIST will take the stage to discuss the role of and conflict resolution within the UN in the 21st Century, addressing the challenge of bridging the divide between the Global North and South in the organisation.

  1. Day 2:

Interactive sessions on Rules of Procedure एंड Structured Research will be held with Mr. Shelwyn James, a founding member of SJBHSMUN with vast Executive Board and Delegate experience.

  1. Day 3:

An interactive session on Crafting Speeches, Lobbying, and Resolution Drafting will be conducted by Ms. Akshaya Mohan, Head Editor at Legal Amity, undergraduate representative for the UN75 dialogue, and campus representative for the Hult Prize Foundation.
