In the 21st century, digital markets are transforming the economy, as technology has penetrated many aspects of people’s lifestyles, from shopping to social interaction. Such digital platforms provide many benefits, but have also gained significant control of consumer data, which confers market power. This has raised not only competition-related concerns, but also concerns related to consumer protection and privacy. Especially in developing economies like India, digital markets are growing exponentially and this brings with its complexities in enforcement of antitrust law.
Considering the need to evolve the antitrust measures to suit these newly created markets, the School of Competition Law and Market Regulation at the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (“SoCL&MR”), and the Centre for Competition Law and Policy, National Law University Jodhpur (“CCLP”) are organising a virtual conference to facilitate the academic discussion.
About the School of Competition Law and Market Regulation
The SoCL & MR is dedicated towards creation of ‘competition culture’ among the market participants which shall augment competition awareness and understanding. The School conducts long term and short-term courses for training of various stakeholders such as officials of ministries, government departments, regulatory authorities, public and private sector enterprises, students and other practitioners of competition law.
About the Centre for Competition Law and Policy

It also publishes a biannual research journal named the Indian Competition Law Review.
About the Virtual Conference
