Litigation against the Doctors are on the rise these days. Investigation of cases pertaining to the Doctors, their effective presentation, and of course, their proper adjudication is a challenge that everybody concerned has been facing today. The investigating officers, the Medical Professionals, Lawyers and the Judges need to have relevant knowledge of both the fields.
Without knowledge of some basic aspects of the law, the Medicos will never know how to react in critical situations, what must be told to the investigating agency and the judges- through their lawyers.
Investigating agencies should know what is to be presented to the court and lawyers need to know what material is relevant to be placed before the judge. The judges should know about these tools, to administer justice. This program proposes to sensitize doctors, police personnel as well as lawyers, in the medico-legal aspects of law and medicine so that they develop an interest in this interdisciplinary program.
Indian Law Society established in 1923 is a Public Trust and is one of the oldest Legal Education Institutions in India. ILS imparts various long term and short term Programs for value addition to the students and professionals.
Indian Medical Association is the only representative, national voluntary organization of Doctors of Modern Scientific System of Medicine, which looks after the interest of doctors as well as the well-being of the community at large.
