The Securities Exchange Board of India makes Securities and Exchange Board of India (Infrastructure Investment Trusts) (Amendment) Regulations, 2021 to further amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Infrastructure Investment Trusts) Regulations, 2014.
Key points:
- In Regulation 14 (4) (c) of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Infrastructure Investment Trusts) Regulations, 2014, the words ‘be one lakh rupees’ substituted with the words fall within the range of ten thousand rupees to fifteen thousand rupees.
- In regulation 26B, the following new sub–regulation shall be inserted–
(3) The minimum number of unit holders in an InvIT, other than the sponsor(s), its related parties and its associates, shall be five, together and collectively holding at least twenty–five percent of the total units of the InvIT, at all times.
Explanation. – For the purposes of this sub–regulation, a unit holder along with its associates and related parties, shall be considered as a single unit holder.
