SLS Pune wins the the National Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition, 2021
A team of Symbiosis Law School – Pune, represented by Neharica Sahay (Speaker 1), Neha Samji (Speaker 2), and Chilamkuri Deepthi (Researcher) has won the National Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition, 2021 organized by K.L.E. Society’s Law College, Bengaluru. The final rounds were between Symbiosis Law School, Pune and SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.
Neha Samji won the award for the Best Student Advocate.
The dates of the competition were 13th – 15th August 2021.
The moot problem was based on transparency and the potential repercussions of achieving the same in the process of political funding during elections in light of the Right to Privacy.
RMLNLU bags the United Nations Millennium Fellowship
Eight students from RML National Law University, Lucknow have secured the prestigious United Nations Millennium Fellowship. The RMLNLU Campus has been selected for the Fellowship, from a diverse pool of 2,200 campuses across 153+ nations with over 25,000 applicants. Only 120 campuses were selected worldwide (just 6%) with RMLNLU Lucknow making the difficult cut.
United Nations Academic Impact Millennium Fellowship is an endeavour that commences from August and ends in November every year. The Fellowship requires the students to launch a campus project for any of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The RMLNLU project is titled “Sustainability and Human Rights: Looking Beyond Environmental and Climate Change Laws”.
The goal of the project is to organize 3 symposia from August to October on the subthemes of sustainability and environmental law, sustainability and trade and commerce and sustainability and human rights. The students will also launch a course lasting 3-4 days globally for students to master sustainability and climate change action.
The graduation ceremony will take place virtually in New York on 17th November 2021.
HNLU wins the 1st Indian Moot for Artificial Intelligence and Law
An HNLU team comprising of Amrutha Desikan, Vijay Kumar Chawla, Anushka Choudhary and Amrita Sonihave has been adjudged as the ‘winners’ of the 1st Indian Moot for Artificial Intelligence and Law. The team also won the best memorial for the claimant.
The competition was hosted virtually by the Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law from 5th-8th August 2021. The Moot proposition was based on international investment arbitration and artificial intelligence.
