On August 23, 2021, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has issued Classification of Medical Devices pertaining to Urology under the provisions of Medical Devices Rules, 2017. The medical devices, based on the intended use, risk associated with the devices and other parameters.

The list of devices classified into risk category A and B is stated in the notice and their intended use is provided. Only the general intended use is provided which is for guidance to the applicants who intends to furnish application of import or manufacture of medical devices under the provisions of Medical Devices Rules, 2017. The other uses shall be specified by manufacturer. The list will be revised from time to time.
