SLSH wins the 1st Virtual National Moot Court Competition
the team consisting of Janaswamy Venkata Lakshmi Tanya, Shubangi G, and Silvia Tomy Simon took part in the 1st Virtual National Moot Court Competition and emerged as winners. The competition was organized by the Central University of Kerala from 23rd to 25th September 2021.
On the 22nd of September, the inauguration ceremony was held and the rounds of the competition began on the 23rd of September. Two preliminary rounds were conducted where 10 teams competed against each other. The team cleared the preliminary rounds and entered the semi-finals along with 3 other teams.
On Day Two, semi-final rounds were held and the team cleared these rounds going against fellow law students and presenting before esteemed judges. It is worth mentioning here that the team has scored the highest in the preliminary rounds as well as the semi-final rounds.
On the last day, the finals were held where the team presented their case before reputed legal practitioners. This was followed by the valedictorian ceremony where the winners were announced. Besides this, the team has not only won the Best Memorial Award but one of the Speakers, Shubangi G was adjudged the Best Speaker.
NLUJA, Assam adjudged Runners-Up in 14th NALSAR Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Moot Court Competition, 2021
A team comprising of:
- Shrey Goyal (Class of 2024),
- Shivang Mishra (Class of 2025), and
- Hrishikesh Reddy Kothwal (Class of 2025),
from National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam were adjudged and declared the Runners-Up of the 14th NALSAR Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Moot Court Competition, 2021, and were bestowed with a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.
The competition was organised by The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad, Telangana, in association with the Bodh Raj Sawhny Trust. A total of 79 Teams took part in the competition, with only 32 qualifying via Memorial Rounds. The 32 Teams hotly debated the issues relating to constitutional law and 8 proceeded to Quarter-Finals.
The Final Rounds were contested between ILNU, Gujarat, and NLUJA, Assam.
The finals were judged by Hon’ble Justice Dr. Pushpendra Singh Bhati, Hon’ble Justice (Retd.) Dr. Bharat Bhushan Parsoon, among others.
The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Justice (Retd.) K.G. Balakrishnan, Former CJI.
Army Institute of Law, Mohali wins 2nd National Trial Advocacy (virtual) Competition 2021
Army Institute of Law, Mohali consisting of Devyang Bahri (4th year), Ramapalli Aditya(3rd year) and Saikeerti (2nd year) won the 2nd National Trial Advocacy (virtual) Competition 2021. They received a cash prize of Rs. 17,000/-
The competition was hosted virtually by Kerala Law Academy from 6th – 8th October 2021.
UILS, PU wins 9th Annual B. P. Apte National Moot Court Competition
The team from UILS, PU consisting of Vanshika Joshi and Navraj Rawl took part in the 9th Annual B. P. Apte National Moot Court Competition and emerged as winners. Vanshika Joshi was also awarded the Best Speaker award. The competition was organised by Advocate Balasaheb Apte College Of Law from 8th – 10th October, 2021.
On 8th October, two preliminary rounds were held and the team qualified to the Quarter finals. On 9th October, the Team qualified for the Quarter finals round. On 10th October, the team qualified for the Semi Finals. In the Finals, the Team argued from the side of the respondents before the esteemed retd. Justice K.K. Tated and emerged as the winners of the Competition.
