About the Competition

This year, the NLIU ADRC looks forward to hosting the 2nd edition of its Annual Negotiation Tournament, the 2nd NLIU-Khaitan International Negotiation Competition, 2021. This competition, in collaboration with Khaitan & Co. will see participation of law students from across the globe. The nature of the Tournament, like that of the previous edition, shall be that of a Commercial Negotiation, involving 2 participants from each participating team, viz. the Client and the Counsel.

Owing to the technical difficulties over Virtual Rounds, we wish to restrict the number of teams to 24, which would be shortlisted on the basis of previous experiences and academic inclinations towards ADR.

About the Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell, National Law Institute University, Bhopal

The NLIU ADRC has, since its inception, established itself as a frontrunner in the field of arbitration, mediation, and negotiation. Owing to a strong belief in the principle of ‘learning beyond the four walls of a classroom’, we work to encourage and promote student participation in arbitration, negotiations, and mediation agreements in order to develop important skills required in the real world. We are one of the oldest ADR Committees in Asia and have been hosting various workshops and training sessions on Mediation and Negotiation for both vocational and tournament-based operations, as well as organizing the Intra College Participant’s Pool cum Tournament. With new voices and opinions at the helm, ADRC is all set to bring new expansionist ideas which will revamp the sphere of mediation and arbitration, both in India and abroad.
