JSA, in collaboration with Osborne Partners, IAMC Hyderabad, Clifford Chance and SCC Online Blog (exclusive media partner), invites you to a session on how to prepare for, and conduct, an effective cross-examination — a critical component of disputes — with a panel of speakers that have served as counsel, arbitrators, and expert witnesses in commercial and investment arbitration and litigation matters.
The panel will discuss and share insights on:
- The dos and don’ts of, and best practices to be adopted when, cross-examining fact witnesses and expert witnesses — both such witnesses offering different types of evidence and therefore requiring different style (and preparation) of cross-examination;
- How witnesses might prepare for and conduct themselves in hearings; and
-
Their own experiences when subject to or presiding over cross-examination.
The session is also designed to help practitioners of arbitration develop their style of cross-examining witnesses, and importantly be aware of the critical elements that will help their preparation (as counsel or witnesses) for cross-examination.
