ABOUT KIIT (DEEMED TO BE) UNIVERSITY:

KIIT Deemed to be University is situated in Bhubaneswar and is one of the premier self-financing universities in the country. It caters to more than 30,000 students from all across the nation and 50 other countries. KIIT, Deemed to be University offers more than 100 Academic programs like MBA, Engineering, Law etc in more than 23 State of the art campuses comprising more than 2500 Academic and Research Staff. Established in 1992 with 2 staff and 12 students, it has gained prominence in the world today and is also categorized as the Institute of Eminence since 2019. ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
The KIIT National Moot Court Competition has always been a flagship event for the KIIT School of Law. After 7 successful physical editions and one online edition of the KIIT National Moot Court Competition, this year we are happy to host the 9th KIIT National Moot Court Competition 2023 in the physical mode, in all its grandeur and glory to uphold the reputation we have created through the previous editions.
ELIGIBILITY AND TEAM COMPOSITION:
The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bonafide on a regular basis in an undergraduate law course or its equivalent conducted by any recognized College/ Institution/ University.
A recognized College/Institution/University shall be entitled to send only one Team to the Competition.
Each Team shall comprise of three members, two members shall be designated as Speakers and the third member shall be designated as a Researcher.
LOCATION:
The Competition will be held offline, at KIIT, School of Law, Patia, Bhubaneswar, Orissa – 751024.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:
Each team has to provisionally register by filling up the Provisional Registration Form with all the required details which are available at https://forms.gle/VaMFHbkSLR2nNxJS7. Once the team has filled up the Provisional Registration Form they will be able to access the Moot Proposition and the Event Timeline, along with the other documents.
Each Team must register by filling up the Registration Form with all the necessary details available at https://forms.gle/dVJYPLMMmtpaz5re7 and by paying the registration fee as provided in the Rules of the Competition.
Each Team shall complete such registration on or before 15th January 2023 (11:59 pm).
A scanned bonafide letter issued by the appropriate authority of the Team’s College/Institution/University should be uploaded on the Google Form https://forms.gle/dVJYPLMMmtpaz5re7
Once a Team registers by completing the formalities given in the Rules of the Competition, a code (hereinafter “Team Code”) shall be assigned to the Team by 17th January 2023.
A Team that has registered pursuant to the Rules of the Competition may change its composition only after informing the Organizing Committee of such change by way emailing the Change in Team Composition to kiitmoot@kls.ac.in with the subject “Change in Team Composition (TC 9__) | 9th KNMCC 2023”. Changes to the team composition may not be made later than 18th February 2023.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
Each Team shall send a soft copy of the Memorial for each side in PDF and Microsoft Word (.docx/.doc) formats, via e-mail, on or before 18th February 2023 (11:59 pm) to kiitmoot@kls.ac.in
Any soft copy submission made after 18th February 2023 (11:59 pm) will be considered a late submission and shall be penalized with 1 mark for each day of delay till 22nd February 2023 (11:59 pm).
All Teams are required to submit five (5) hard copies of the Memorials for each side (5 for the Appellant and 5 for the Respondent) at the following address:

All Teams should ensure that their hard copies reach the OC by 22nd February 2023 (07:00 pm).
The teams are required to submit a cover letter along with the hard copy of the Memorials. The cover letter should specify the Team Code assigned to such Team, details of the Team members and the College/Institution/University represented.
FEES DETAILS:
The registration fee for the competition is Rs 4,000/-. The registration fee shall be non-refundable and paid by all teams irrespective of their participation in the Oral Rounds.
Registration Fees are inclusive of accommodation. Accommodation shall be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis to the teams as per the Accommodation Plan form available at https://forms.gle/96apXgMH7WzEo8aK6. For more details, please refer to the attached Rules & Regulations.
