17:30 hrs- Hon’ble Ms Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma, Delhi High Court, is a source of inspiration for all of us. In one of her speeches at the Delhi State Legal Service Authority, her ladyship quoted “ Many times we don’t become a good lawyer by only learning law from books but rather we become good lawyers by learning from life.” She has a deep understanding of topics such as gender neutrality and gender equality. Firstly she bestowed gracious praise on the hard work of Amity University Faculties and participants. Ma’am did her law in 1991 and now she has been a judge for 30 years, at that time moot court competitions were not there and now when she sees children participating in moots and how brilliantly counsels research on the issues and give arguments is amazing nowadays. She shared her thought that “a law degree is my aim but education is the root to attain a complete personality”. She even advised the young lawyers that it is not a business, as there are some professions that are not businesses they are practised because we practice that and give our service, so, a legal profession is a service. Young lawyers should keep in mind that they are doing legal service to people and legal service for the nation. Law is valuable as it contains rights and fundamental rights of people. And at last, she stated that “prabhu meri arzee hai mei wo ho jaaoo jo teri mrzee hai“ I Should Become Voice Of Justice, I Must Use My Interest As A Lawyer, I Must Use My Interest As A Educationalist, I Must Use My Interest As A Judge”.

Jessep International Mopot Court Competition a few times in the past. He referred to Law as SOCIAL ENGINEERING. He quotes a quote by Walter Lippmann “ Press does not tell about what to think, but tells us what to think about” He encouraged students to take a note and always follow Professional ethics and Credibility rather than money as they are much more important. As it takes years to establish credibility and a single moment to lose it. Sir also questioned the role of AI in the Judiciary and said can the role of the Judiciary be delegated to a thing that does not have empathy and sight for the future if delegated it can question the credibility of the justice system which took a lot of time to develop.
“IT IS A ROUGH ROAD THAT LEADS TO THE HEIGHTS OF GREATNESS.”
—Lucius Annaeus Seneca
18:10 hrs- Hon’ble Mr Justice Vivek Agarwal is currently serving as a Judge in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He is a great philosopher. His writings and oral utterances serve as a source of perennial inspiration to the students. He impresses the audience with his legal insight and wisdom. He began his speech by thanking the dignitaries who spoke before him. He spoke on certain issues of importance that came to his mind when he was a practising lawyer and now a renowned judge. The foremost issue was the need for a compelling reason to pursue legal education and practice. One must pursue law if it suits their personal interest and aptitude. The nobility of a lawyer lies in serving society rather than chasing fame and money. The second issue was the need to shift focus from the commercialization of the legal field to its professionalization. The procedural delays in the justice system must be rectified and the underprivileged sections must be taken care of. The rights and duties of citizens go hand-in-hand and it’s time to give recognition to this fact.
