Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), is a public law school and a National Law University located in Patiala, Punjab, India. It was established in 2006 by the Punjab Government (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006) as a university dedicated to the field of Legal Education.<\/p>\n

The Centre for Alternative Dispute resolution (CADR), Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law has been established to promote students’ and researchers’ interest in Alternative Dispute Resolution consisting of dispute resolution mechanisms like Arbitration, Negotiation, Mediation and Conciliation.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE SEMINAR<\/p>\n

India is home to plenty of sports, which are played throughout the length and breadth of the country. However, there is no specific legislation dealing with sports law in India. The government of India has enacted National Sports Development Code, 2011 for regulating National Sports Federations in India. In the absence of specific legislation dealing with various aspects of sports, regulation of sports presents a big challenge, highlighting the need for the development of law and the need for sports lawyers in India.<\/p>\n

The seminar is aimed at providing the participants with the nuances of sports and the need for regulating sports; the intricacies of various laws dealing with sports and the issues and challenges of sports law in India. The seminar will involve various technical sessions wherein experts and participants will discuss and debate various aspects of sports and the legal provisions regulating such aspects.<\/p>\n
