Julian Assange pleaded guilty before the Court to the information charging him with conspiracy to obtain documents, writings, notes connected with the national defence, and wilfully communicate documents relating to national defence of the United States, which constitutes a felony.
The Court directed US to assure that Assange is allowed to rely on the First Amendment protections and is not prejudiced at trial by reason of his nationality, and that a death penalty is not imposed.
